This was done through a technique called “fore-edge painting,” which is an illustration that is hidden on the edge of the pages of the book. The technique allegedly dates back to the 1650s.
Day Five: Favorite Maniraptoran
I’ll admit, I had to look up a list of these to figure it out, I’m used to the smaller group names. *shame*
Therizinosaurus! Because what could possibly be more awesome than a fifteen foot tall chicken with claws almost as long as you? <3
Another to add to the list of “this photo sucks, must rescan and color when i get home”….its growing :/ I’m not going to be in Oklahoma long, but damn, I wish I had a better way to scan or photograph these stupid sketches…my phone just isn’t worth beans for photos.
I swear i drew this yesterday, so its still day 3, i just didn’t get to post it cause i’ve been in a car for the past 14 hours and i am so effin’ tired right now, I still have to figure a way to draw TODAYS….It can wait till we get to our hotel…yaaaaay roadtrips……
Anyways…Day 3, favorite ornithopod…is apparently Parasaurolophus…actually I love most of the hadrosaurids, so this was really hard to pick between day 3 and day 4….Its a crappy picture of a shoddy sketch, i’ll color it and make it all better when I get home on sunday…….
Day Four: Favorite Overall Dinosaur
The cool thing about my favorite overall dinosaur is that its had a relatively recent discovery made about it. It may have had a comb! 83 sweeeeet
I fell in love with the Edmontosaurus skeleton at our state’s natural history museum, and it probably remains my favorite one yet. Their heads remind me of big cows, or caribou, for some reason <3
Tried to make this look like some big, heavy duty old bull with a lot of bulk to his neck and shoulders.
I’ll have fun coloring this one when I get home, but i’m counting it as submitted on time even though its after midnight in Oklahoma…cause i live in Colorado, which means its only 11 pm >.> Totally on time.
